Cruzando Océanos

cruzando cd cover_edited.jpg

Cruzando Océanos is our new cd. The two sides of the Atlantic seem in our times closer than ever. Our music has always been so. Iberian and Latin American music are linked not only by language but also by style, Arabian-influenced harmony and dance rhythm. How far apart are the Habanera and the Tango? Not very.

In the ideal surroundings and the warm acoustic of the Miryzaal in the centre of our home city of Ghent, Belgium, we recorded a selection of our favourite music from both continents. Sound Engineer Michaël Penson. Artwork by Katrien Blontrock.

The CD includes two classical arrangements of Bolivian folk songs: Flor de Bronce and Kollavina. You can hear and see both on our YouTube page, where we are joined by the fabulous percussionist Peter Ploegaerts:

Flor de Bronce
Kollavina

Go to our SoundCloud page to hear further extracts from the CD, including the world première recording of Illimani Variations for flute & piano, as well as Anna's touching interpretations of Cantarina by Willy Claure and the unsurpassed Alfonsina y el Mar by Ariel Ramirez.

Also on our CD: Cuatros Madrigales Amatorios by Rodrigo, Melodia Sentimental by Villa Lobos and La Rosa y el Sauce by Guastavino. The CD opens with El dia que me quieras, the earliest Tango known to man, by Carlos Gardel and also includes piano music by Granados.

The CD is now live on Spotify or we can it send to you for only € 15 including postage and packing. Contact us to order yours now!
